The Prodigy's Game Summary (Book 1)

 This is the first book in the McCalliverse series and it sets up the events of The Gods' Haven. 

A student, Abyache (she’s the main character in this one and The Gods’ Haven, the rest are different) is chosen, along with one other, to apprentice with the most famed scientist on Afetyo, However, as she begins her work at Afetyo’s government’s scientific compound she realizes the lead scientist, Talache, is pitting her and the other student against each other in some twisted game. As Talache’s concocted rivalry heats up and they are chosen to do more and more morally questionable tasks, Abyache snaps, realizing that this country she had been so dedicated to may not be all she thought. She takes her revenge on Talache and tries to right the wrongs Talache had her do, but she could only do so much before Talache called for her to be punished. How does she escape her circumstances? Will she ever be free of Talache’s manipulation?
